Today's the day! It was a hectic morning getting every last thing together but we made it to the airport on time. I said my goodbyes to Paige and my parents and held back tears as I went through security. This will be the longest I will ever go without seeing my family and I will miss them so much (I already do), but I have a feeling this trip will be worth it. Okay, enough sappy stuff, I'm forcing myself to think about all the excitement ahead rather than missing home. SO, I had a quick flight to Denver (literally like 40 minutes, it felt like hardly left the ground) and after a hefty 7 hour layover in Denver I finally met some of the girls from the group. They're all super nice, but it still doesn't seem real that they will be my roommates/friends/peers for the next 4 months. We weren't seated by each other on the plane which I was bummed about but it all worked out cause I ended up having 3 seats to myself to sprawl out and sleep on for my 9 hour flight to London. Boo-ya. I should've known there would be a trade off though.. When we landed and claimed our baggage, mine never came. I waited and waited and finally asked a employee for help. Somehow the darling older man with a British accent referring to me as "love" made everything okay. I called and talked to my mom twice, forgetting it was 3 AM back home. Oops, sorry mom, but you're the best. Anyways, waited a while but finally they found my bag in some back storage room. Apparently it had gotten there early and they stored it away. I was relieved. We also found out the Niall from One Direction was on our flight to London. Anyone who knows me well knows that Paige and I have a tiny obsession with One Direction, so I was kind of freaking out that I was within 20 feet of him for 9 hours without knowing. Still so cool though. Long story short - we arrived in London and began day two of our trip running on 2-3 hours of airplane sleep.
