After a little van ride from the airport, we arrived at our hotel around 11 AM London time, which was 4 AM at home. The girls I had met at the airport and the girls we had run into planned to meet at 1 to explore the city despite our exhaustion. Our hotel was right by Kensington Palace (where Will and Kate and baby George reside) so our first stop on our walk was that and the park that surrounds it. Unfortunately we didn't see the royal fam, but seeing where they live was still pretty dang cool, not to mention beautiful. After that we ate salads at a quaint little cafe that we ran into. We were all so jet-lagged, so we decided head back to the hotel for a nap before we had to meet at a nearby pub for our first official group gathering where we would meet all of our fellow study abroad peers. We ate fish 'n' chips and ordered our first ever legal drinks. Exciting, I know. Everyone I met was really cool and I'm so excited to share this experience with them. Out of roughly 100 students, there are about 10 boys in our group… so the chances of me coming home with a boyfriend are slim (I can hear my mother's sigh of relief now). I have yet to meet any of the girls who will be my roommates so I'm anxious to do that!
