Ciao from Roma! Decided to leave packing for this morning which was a huge mistake. I was so rushed but managed to make it out the door on time and didn't forget anything important. Go me. After the trek across town, we boarded the 3-4 hour bus ride to Rome. I slept the whole way. (God knows I needed it!) We arrived at our hotel around noon but our rooms weren't ready yet so we had to store our luggage and go grab lunch and hang for a bit before we could check in. They were finally ready at 2:00 and we had to quick get settled and get ready because our tour left at 2:30. We walked around part of the city and saw the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, several churches, and the Trevi Fountain! We all made our wishes as we threw our leftover crowns from Prague into the fountain. I was waiting for Paulo to sweep in and take me away on his scooter but it didn't happen. (Lizzie McGuire reference, sorry.) When our tour ended a big group of us decided to go to dinner at a place called "Tonys". We heard from multiple friends that this was the place to go and that Tony loved American students and made you feel right at home. And they were so right. The second we arrived be acted as if he already knew us and was expecting us. He pushed tables together quickly so that we could all sit together and greeted us so warmly! He has water and wine on the table before we could ask. He suggested his favorite dishes and we ordered our meals. While we waited for our food he brought out baskets on baskets of multiple kinds of bread along with a few trays of calamari. Then our food came and it was sooo good. Without us asking he brought us all tiramisu. Then when we finished that he brought out a huge tray of cheese cakes with a huge lit candle because it was one of the girls' birthdays. He brought out champagne too and popped it for us. He then continued for force feed the birthday girl her first drink of champagne. He was so cool. We got pictures with him and he was loving it. We all said we want to go back tomorrow! Then we got taxis back to the hotel where we hung out and played silly games all night.
